Position Description The role is to provide experienced project management within IT Operations to deliver multiple infrastructure projects that will enable IT to continue to deliver a high level of service to the business. It will involve working across a number of streams from both Project and Operations resource pools based out of UK, India and Germany. Strong project management is the primary requirement with a focus on planning and delivery to plan and cost. Allianz follow Prince 2 methodology and demonstration of the structured project management disciplines is essential including: • Prepare and maintain realistic Project plans including Risk , Quality and Communication plans Effectively manage project resources in geographicaly diverse locations to deliver the project. • Effectively manage Issues and Risks • Monitor and control team performance against each plan • Provide reports to business customer Managers • Provide reports to Senior IT Managers • Monitor and control expense and capital costs against the project budget • Deliver the project with resources allocated • Assess the effect of change on the projects with respect to costs, timescale and resource needs and report these appropriately. • Liaise with other managers within IT and the business • Manage expectations for the projects. Skills & Experience Total 10-12 years experience in IT infrastructure with at least 5 - 6 years in managing medium sized Infrastructure projects with multi disciplined and ideally geographically diverse teams and stakeholders. Proficient in the following: • Ability to initiate, plan, control and monitor and report the project – time, team, activities, resources, risks, issues and financials Experience in remote project management - managing techincal resources in geographically diverese locations. • Through understanding of IT Infrastructure components and services. Understanding of Application development lifecycle and experience in working closely with Application Development teams to deliver IT Infrastructure solutions for business Experience in application life cycle upgrade projects. Excellent communication and influencing skills Demonstrated Risk based planning skills. • Highly organized and capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously • Strong, demonstrated decision making, collaboration and prioritization skills • Must demonstrate strong initiative and ability to work with all levels of Management • Ability to proactively resolve complex problems • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Negotiation experience and skills • Excellent understanding of Project support office functions • Excellent communication skills • Experience in preparing Business Case Communicates effectively (firm, but with tact and diplomacy), both orally and in writing, with subordinates, colleagues, clients and other parts of the business at all levels of seniority. Shows initiative and makes time available to ensure general technical competencies and specialisations are kept up-to-date in line with industry developments. Is fully capable of preparing, organising and giving presentations using appropriate tools and techniques in both written and oral modes. Demonstrates strong ownership, leadership and determination in delivering assigned projects successfully and with customer satisfaction. Should have experience in People Management Key Competencies A background of technical / infrastructure IT experience with strong project management skilss is essential. Knowledge of Microsoft Project is required and desirably be a qualified PRINCE 2 Practitioner, if not, PMP is a must. ITIL v3 Foundation certification is desired.
