Job Overview:

Canara Bank a leading public sector bank in India has started a special drive under the Govt of India’s UDAAN scheme (SPECIAL INDUSTRY INITIATIVE-JAMMU & KASHMIR SCHEME). The bank is looking for unemployed graduates (any degree or above) from Jammu and Kashmir state for the Probationary Officer and Probationary Clerks posts.

Before the appointment for the PO and PC posts the bank will first shortlist the applications based on its selection procedure and the lucky 300 candidates will be trained for 3 months and will be given the certification after successful completion of the course. The training program consists of a mix of Class Room training for 2 months at Canara Bank Regional Staff Training College, Sector-18, Plot No.-80, Near IFFCO Chowk, Gurgaon-122015 and On-the-Job training for 1 month at bank’s other branches in the states of Delhi & Haryana. The exact training date for the shortlisted candidates will be communicated by the bank subsequently.

Later the bank will recruit around 150 candidates (135 PO + 15 PC) from this batch who will finally be appointed to the probationary Officer and Clerks Job based on the vacancy in the Bank. The selected candidates for the PO will be posted anywhere in India whereas the candidates for the PC will be posted in J&K.



Qualification & Eligibility:

Unemployed graduates from J&K are eligible to enrolling for this job process, graduates from other states are not applicable for this special drive.

For both the post degree in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Government of India and the result should have been declared on or before Date 01.03.2013 is required. Also for the clerical post the candidate should preferably be proficient in the Official regional language of the state.



The age limitation for the Probationary Officer is Minimum – 21 Years and Maximum – 30 Years, and for Probationary Clerk it is Minimum – 20 Years and Maximum – 28 years. For the reserved categories the age relaxation is applicable as per the Government guidelines.



Selection Procedure:

The selection procedure is divided into two – Selection of candidates for Training and Selection of candidates for Job Posting (PO +PC). Candidates who successfully pass in the trainings are eligible for the second selection process.

As a first step the candidates should fill the online application form at www.nsdcudaan.com (the forms also available at Canara Bank branches in J&K) within 15th May.

Second step, the Bank will shortlist best 300 applications based on academic records/Written test/Group Discussions/Interviews.

Later the Government Authorities/NSDC will verify the candidate’s application and will issue clearance to the bank if everything in the application is found to be true after which the bank will select the candidate for the training and skill development program.



In the second selection process, the bank will conduct written test, Group discussions, interviews for the certified candidates (candidates who successfully completed the training) for the prob officer and prob clerks post.
